How can i check, whether Powercopy file-transfer peer to peer feature works with my computer?

PCs produced in 1993 until now: Powercopy works on every Computer which has parallel printer interface.

Produced until 1993:

If you have still older PC, you can check whether it runs on your system.

If one of the following four checks matches with your computer, then you can use Powercopy on it!
1. Read inside your PC-System manual whether the ECP, EPP or bidirectional (SPP) parallel mode is supported.

2. Under Win9x. On your Desktop click on My Computer with the right mouse button  and select properties.
If you can read ECP Printer Port here then your system is ideal configured for Powercopy

3. Restart your system -> go into your bios setup, go to the the parallel port settings and try to enable either ECP(best) Epp or the bidirectional(SPP) mode.

4.Under Win9x: Download the test version and install Powercopy. If you select a folder with the right mouse Button the the following popup menu will appear.

Now select receive here and start the Receiver. Don't worry! Because you haven't connected a Powercopy cable we can nothing receive. But you can see the parallel interface capability inside the DOS - box.

If you can read something right of "Parallel Port Cababilities is/are", then you can use Powercopy with this computer. By pressing the key combination ALT+F4 twice, this window will be closed.
