Background: After intensive laboratory tests we found out, that in certain circumstances using the 'Turbo' cluster scan mode, which is available inside Windows operating systems, may result in incorrect disk image files. Restore inconsitences may therfore occure in certain circumstances. Because your data safety is most important for us we offer you an free update for your Powercopy Software. In some cases too much has been saved or copied resulting in longer times and too large images files.

Dringender Update von Powercopy Home Clone Professional Clone, Prof. Plus, Clone KISS und Plus KISS erforderlich!
Betroffene Versionen V3.0 (2006) bis einschließlich V4.01(2007).

Hintergrund: Unsere Labortests haben ergeben, dass es unter bestimmten Umständen bei Verwendung des 'Turbo' Kopiermechanismus und Windows Betriebssystemen zu Image-Erstellfehlern und somit auch zu Rücksicherungsinkonsistenzen kommen kann. Ihre Datensicherheit steht bei uns an erster Stelle. Wir bieten Ihnen hierzu einen kostenlosen Update an. In manchen Fällen wurde auch zu viel gesichert/kopiert, was zu verlängerten Kopier/Imageerstellzeiten führte.

Update Version integrated to source. Nice side effect. Windows Version of Powercopy 'Pc32.exe' may now used without pc.msp Message file.

Hint on Windows Vista: To run Powercopy inside Windows Vista: Run "explorer.exe" click right mouse button on Powercopy executable file named "pc32.exe". Select "Run as administrator" there.

Hinweis bei der Verwendung von Powercopy mit Windows Vista: Um Powercopy innerhalb von Vista auszuführen: Starten sie den Windows Dateimanager mit Start/Ausführen "explorer.exe". Bei der ausführbaren Powercopy Programmdatei namens "pc32.exe" klicken Sie auf die rechte Maustaste. Wählen Sie dort "Ausführen als Administrator".

Hint on versions <=V2.1:

In some special cases powercopy may hang on some bad designed systems e.g. from ASUS and others with INTEL PIV chipset. Upgrade to Powercopy >=V3.1 which has an inbuild workarround for those systems.
In einigen Spezialfällen mit schlecht konzipierten INTEL PIV Mainboards z.B. der Fa. ASUS kann es zum Systemabsturz oder zu Imagevergleichsfehlern bei Ausführung von Powercopy kommen. In diesen Fällen bitte auf Version >=3.1 upgraden, bei welchen eine Lösung für dieses Problem eingebaut wurde.

Powercopy is a very stable program. Only one bug was reported by our large ammount of users since Powercopy was first published in Okt99.

1) DOS Bug: Transfer is not correct under PURE DOS with pc.exe <=V1.20R0 and low system memory:

Please pay attention if you transfer files from  any operating system to PURE Dos if memory is below 550kB( call "mem /c"  to check).
In a very seldom environment with low memory there may exist an DOS7 problem.( The received CRC is ok and all data has been written to disk, but the DOS-API writetofile command doesn't write the correct data to disk.) You can work with your old version, but please transfer one file(300-600kB) and send it back to an different folder. Check both files by using "fc.exe /b file1 file2". If both are identical it is ensured all files will be correct written. We added an workarround (pc.exe>=V1.20R1 2000 Aug 22) for this DOS bug. This behaviour was never seen under the Dos box of Windows 9x. This bug is fixed at current version.
2) Preview is not shown in the correct manner.(only old PCResult.exe V1.0x)
Solution a) Enable the view of the file extension

b) Download PCResult.exe (~300kByte)  and replace it in your powercopy installation folder. This version is for german and english versions of Powercopy.
